Celine Dion landed safely in Paris on Friday to rehearse for a 16-show concert run, taking place from 12 September to 17 October.
Her return marks a step closer to a medical milestone following her battle with stiff person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that forced her to take a break from the limelight.
An emotional welcome in the French capital
Each performance, set for three nights a week – Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays – is anticipated to attract over 30,000 spectators to the sold-out venue.
The in-demand comeback concerts also prompted organisers to add ten more dates for May 2027, Euronews confirmed.
French media swiftly captured the crowd in front of the Royal Monceau hotel on Avenue Hoche greeting the singer with “Celine, we love you!” among other cheers.
Dion’s last full tour dates in France were held in 2017, while her last solo performance on a French stage took place at the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Recording fifteen of her studio albums in French was further proof that Paris holds a special place in the heart of the Quebec-born artist.
Expressing deep gratitude, Dion told broadcaster BFM TV that she has “always felt supported” in the city, calling it “my second home.”

Years of battle off-stage
Dion shocked the public with her diagnosis in December 2022, resulting in the cancellation of an entire world tour.
Her career was put on hold due to symptoms such as severe muscle stiffness and painful spasms, which greatly affected her ability to perform.
Details on setlists or production remain unknown, but the Paris dates are believed to be the biggest test yet of her touring stamina.
This is more than just a comeback story – it is a real reflection of what recovery looks like for someone whose career is built on her voice, an instrument no treatment can restore.
