Closing the North American leg of the Long Live the Black Parade Tour in San Antonio on Saturday, American rock band My Chemical Romance hinted at the prospect of releasing a new album.
It would be the band’s first since 2010, and while there is no timeline yet, Gerard Way teased: “It’ll be awesome”.
“Just know that, like, we’ve kind of really always wanted to make another record, so we hope that life allows us to do that,” said Way.
“Cause you guys, honestly, you guys kept us alive so long. You guys deserve another record. I don’t know when it’ll be. But it’ll be awesome.”
After more than 15 years
The last time My Chemical Romance released a full-length album was in 2010, “Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys.”
After the Danger Days era, the rock band only released compilation albums: “Conventional Weapons” (2013) and “May Death Never Stop You” (2014).
The 2019 reunion marked the band’s major comeback, after six years of being broken up in 2013, when the band members went on separate paths to focus on their personal lives.
The band also released a single in 2022, after eight years of drought, titled “The Foundations of Decay”. Releasing a new LP would be highly anticipated by fans.

Tour success
After starting the tour in July 2025, a total of 1.89 million fans have attended their concerts across the globe, according to Bass Magazine.
It is undeniable that the rock band has had a successful reunion.
The year has also been good in terms of their streaming performances.
There was a major comeback for “Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge” and “The Black Parade” as they reached the Top 100 charts of Spotify and Apple Music.
MCR’s next stop is in Southeast Asia for a month-long tour that will end in November.
