Superstar DJ Calvin Harris took to Instagram on Monday to announce the birth of his baby son Micah.

Radio presenter Vick Hope gave birth to baby Micah, the couple’s first child, on July 20th.

Harris posted a series of photographs on Instagram along with the caption: “20th of July our boy arrived. Micah is here!”

“My wife is a superhero and I am in complete awe of her primal wisdom!”

“Just so grateful. We love you so much Micah.”

Congratulatory messages flood in

The comments section of the One Kiss DJ’s post was soon flooded with messages of congratulations from across the celebrity world.

Fellow DJs Switch Disco, Dillion Francis and DJ Snake all sent messages of congratulations to the pair.

“Big congratulations. Dare I say your best production ever,” commented Dutch DJ Laid Back Luke.

The Scottish musician’s reach even extends to the sporting world with close friend and footballer Andy Robertson commenting, “Congratulations mate”.

Harris’s friendship with Robertson is well documented on social media after he celebrated with the player and the rest of the Premier League winning Liverpool FC team on their victory parade bus earlier in the year.

He was also the DJ on the team bus in 2022, when the Reds toured the city after lifting both the Carabao Cup and Emirates FA Cup.

Photos leave social media users split

Social media users were split in their reaction to the photos that accompanied the initial touching photo of the new dad and his baby.

The following photos appeared to be the before and after shots of the placenta, before it was steamed, dehydrated and ground into pills to be consumed.

Some people claim that ‘consuming’ the placenta after giving birth has health benefits for the mum, however it remains a debated practice.

Singer Becky Hill posted “Love to see the placenta!! Amazing we grow a whole new organ to provide life! Good job not wasting it either, that’s some goddess magic right there!”

“I’ve actually never seen what a placenta looks like so I’m really happy I know now,” said one follower.

Others users disagreed, with a Twitter/X warning about the content of his photos even going viral.

“Should have listened to the damn tweet,” said one user.

“Wh-why would you post this, Calvin,” commented another fan.

Known to be quite a private celebrity, this was an unusually private peek into the hugely successful musician’s life.
