Kate Middleton has ‘unparalleled ability’ to build connections with members of the public

Kate Middleton public connection

Kate Middleton appears to have developed an ‘unparalleled ability’ to build connections with members of the public, with her confident movements, open gestures and natural mirroring suggesting she is genuinely comfortable engaging with people, a body language expert has claimed.

Watching Kate on a visit to Pulborough Village Hall, Darren Stanton says the Princess displays an ‘internal confidence’ in the way she carries herself, with her purposeful stride and relaxed demeanour showing how at ease she has become attending events on her own.

He highlights Kate’s use of mirroring, saying the subtle behaviour appears to happen completely unconsciously and demonstrates a genuine desire to connect with the person in front of her.

Stanton says Kate is developing a skill often demonstrated by the late Queen, with her body language revealing that, despite her position, she is able to show people that she is genuinely interested in them and wants to establish a meaningful connection.

Internally confident

Speaking to Betfair Casino, body language expert Stanton said: “With Kate, we’ve got somebody who comes across as incredibly internally confident.

“She’s very humble and respectful of other people, so she’s extremely socially aware in her non-verbal communication, but she also has this quiet confidence in the way she carries herself.

“You can see it in the way she moves. She has quite a big stride, almost like she’s marching, and she’s clearly very comfortable and experienced when it comes to attending events on her own, without William.

“Unlike some public figures, who can display signs of nervousness in these situations, Kate appears very at ease.

Sense of purpose

“There’s a natural sense of purpose in the way she moves and interacts with people.

“She has an unparalleled ability to build connections and establish rapport.

“Throughout the clips, we saw plenty of gestures, both through her facial expressions and her hands, which demonstrated openness.

“We also see a lot of mirroring, where she naturally adopts some of the other person’s body language or gestures.

“That’s an important social behaviour because it shows a desire to connect and establish deeper rapport.

“What’s particularly interesting is that Kate has become so good at doing this that it appears to happen completely unconsciously.

Genuine engagement

“Sometimes people criticise mirroring and suggest that it’s insincere because somebody is deliberately making an effort to connect, but I would argue the opposite.

“In Kate’s case, it appears to come naturally because she genuinely wants to engage with the person in front of her.

“When we meet somebody for the first time, there can be awkward silences or moments where we’re not quite sure what to say.

“But Kate appears genuinely interested in the people she’s speaking to, and they in turn seem fascinated by her.

Positive exchange

“It creates a really positive exchange and shows that she has the ability to build rapport with people very naturally.

“Kate is developing a skill and ability that the late Queen had. She’s an expert at showing people that, although she’s a Princess, she’s also a human being who is genuinely interested in connecting with the people around her.

“Whether that’s through a conversation, a photograph or another interaction, she appears very comfortable making that connection, and I think that’s becoming a real strength in her body language.”
