Global girl group KATSEYE announced that they are backing out of Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival because of member Megan Skiendiel’s ankle injury.
In an Instagram story, the group, also comprised of Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Manon Bannerman, Sophia Laforteza and Yoonchae, said Megan sprained her ankle on Wednesday.
The injury took place during rehearsals for their upcoming ‘The Wildworld Tour’, which will kick off in Dublin, Ireland, on September 1.
“We know how much our fans were looking forward to seeing us, and it breaks our hearts to disappoint anyone who made plans to be there. We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it’s not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community,” the announcement read.
“We’re sending all our love to Olivia and to all of the incredible artists, non-profit organizations and volunteers who have given their time to make this day so special. It’s going to be such an amazing day, and we can’t wait to see everyone on tour.”
It is unclear whether Megan will return for the start of their world tour.
After KATSEYE’s announcement, Devon Again has been added to the Daisy Chain Fields line-up.
The festival, set to take place in Irvine, California, this Saturday, is a concert featuring an all-women line-up, with all proceeds going towards organisations supporting women and girls.
KATSEYE line-up woes
The development came amid several KATSEYE members being on hiatus, days before their global tour starts.
In February, HYBE and Geffen Records, KATSEYE’s labels, announced that Manon would be taking an indefinite break from the group “to focus on her health and well-being.”
“We fully support this decision. KATSEYE remains committed to showing up for one another and for the fans who mean everything to us,” they said.
Manon’s hiatus fuelled speculation among fans, further intensified by her exclusion from promotional materials, music rollout and major appearances like Lollapalooza and Coachella.
Meanwhile, the Swiss singer said she and Hybe x Geffen were having “positive conversations,” and that she feels the support from her label.
At the same time, she also started several “side quests” during her hiatus, including an advertisement for Tommy Hilfiger and guesting in the 21st season of “Germany’s Next Topmodel” in May, as well as gracing Jacquemus’ Spring/Summer 2027 runway show.

The leader’s response and hiatus
Months after Manon’s hiatus, KATSEYE leader Sophia addressed the issue, asking fans not to make “assumptions” amid Manon’s hiatus.
“Because we did announce that it is about her well-being, it’s not our place or anybody else’s place to rush her,” Sophia told Allure in June.
The KATSEYE leader also shut down rumours that Manon’s hiatus is racially motivated, given that the latter is the only Black member of the group.
“We can definitely say that in our situation, in no way was it about race,” Sophia said. “That goes against everything that we stand for.”
Then, on August 7, Sophia announced that she would be on hiatus to focus on her mental health, three days after missing the premiere of their movie ‘Wild Hearts’.
