On May 15, Canadian rapper Drake surprised fans with a triple album drop upon the release of his new record Iceman.
The unexpected triplet marks the artist’s first solo album releases since For All the Dogs in 2023, which was followed by a collaboration project with PARTYNEXTDOOR in 2025.
Although he is one of the most popular artists in the world, the rapper was notably involved in a rap beef with respected lyricist Kendrick Lamar – a spectacle that left many fans and public figures turned against him.

Unmelting ‘Iceman’
Drake had been teasing an album called Iceman since 2024, first sharing cryptic content on his social media pages.
That then evolved into livestreams across 2025 featuring the ‘Iceman’ title, which contained new singles and solidified the rumoured project name.
In April of this year, the project’s anticipation spiked when a massive ice sculpture appeared in Toronto, Canada.
The pop-up attracted a lot of attention, especially from the rapper’s fans, who went to extreme lengths to try and get to its centre.
After efforts involving everything from pickaxes to blowtorches, a streamer retrieved an envelope from inside that contained the album’s May 15 release date, which Drake later confirmed himself.
Three-in-one release
Fans and critics alike were surprised upon the release of Iceman when two other new albums were immediately available alongside it.
Named Maid of Honour and Habibti, the projects seemingly served as compensation for the rapper’s hiatus since clashing with Lamar.
Iceman contains 18 tracks in a 69-minute runtime and the cover art focuses on a bold diamond-studded sparkling glove.
This is likely an allusion to Drake’s frequent likening of himself to Michael Jackson, whose untouchable popstar legacy he believes he has stepped up to.
Maid of Honour comes in at 45 minutes across 14 songs, with vintage-style cover art showing Drake’s parents and himself as a baby.
Lastly, 37-minute Habibti offers 11 songs and boasts a tape-covered picture of a woman with exposed eyes as the cover.
Featured artists across the albums include Central Cee, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Sexyy Red, Future and 21 Savage.
However, the tracklists predominantly feature Drake on his own, which is perhaps a statement after the musician expressed a feeling of ‘betrayal’ following his public fallout.
