Spider-Man: Brand New Day has become the latest entrant to the exclusive USD2-billion box office club, reaching the milestone just 17 days after its theatrical release on July 31.

The Tom Holland-led film has earned USD786.5 million domestically and USD1.238 billion internationally, bringing its worldwide total to USD2.024 billion, according to a report by Deadline.

The film breached the threshold after just three weekends in cinemas, joining an elite group that previously consisted of only seven movies.

The elite box office club

Avatar (2009) remains the highest-grossing film in the club, with about USD2.92 billion in worldwide earnings.

It is followed by Avengers: Endgame (2019) with USD2.80 billion, Avatar: The Way of Water (2022) with USD2.33 billion, Titanic (1997) with USD2.26 billion, Ne Zha 2 (2025) with USD2.20 billion, Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015) with USD2.07 billion, and Avengers: Infinity War (2018) with USD2.05 billion.

Second-fastest film to hit the mark

Spider-Man: Brand New Day has also become the second-fastest film in history to surpass USD 2 billion at the global box office.

The superhero film reached the milestone in just 17 days, trailing only Avengers: Endgame, which crossed the USD2-billion mark in 11 days.

This feat also makes Spider-Man: Brand New Day Sony Pictures’ highest-grossing film, and the best outing for Peter Parker in any universe.

Meanwhile, the previous Spider-Man film, 2021’s No Way Home, came close to the USD 2-billion mark, earning USD 1.9 billion worldwide but falling short after it was not released in China.

The latest instalment further cements Spider-Man’s status as one of the most successful and enduring superhero franchises in global cinema.
