Vietnamese singer Hoa Minzy’s music video (MV) for “Bac Bling” has surpassed 124 million views on YouTube just one month after its release.
It is the first Vietnamese MV of the year to cross the 100-million view mark and ranks among the fastest to reach such a milestone, as reported by Vietnam News.
The fastest MV in Vietnamese pop history to hit 100 million views was “Hay Trao Cho Anh” (Give It to Me) by Son Tung M-TP, which did so in 15 days, followed by “Song Gio” (Stormy) by Jack and K-ICM in 25 days.
“Bac Bling” has outpaced “Em Gi Oi” (Hey Girl), which hit the mark in 31 days, and “Nguoi La Oi” (Hey Stranger), which reached it in 38 days.
Hoa Minzy, whose real name is Nguyen Thi Hoa, was the winner of the reality show Hoc Vien Ngoi Sao (Star Academy) in 2024.
The 30-year-old singer is known for hits such as “Roi Bo” (Leaving), “Khong The Cung Nhau Suot Kiep” (Cannot Be Together For A Lifetime), “Neu Mai Nay Xa Nhau” (If We Are Apart Tomorrow), and “Thi Mau.”
Hoa Minzy’s most significant project
“Bac Bling” marks the most significant project of Hoa Minzy’s career, reflecting deep affection for her hometown in Bac Ninh province.
The MV creatively fuses traditional and modern music and features special appearances by actor and comedian Xuan Hinh and musician Tuan Cry.
It was filmed at iconic locations in Bac Ninh, including the Dau Pagoda, the Do and Ba Chua Kho Temples, and the Phu Lang Pottery Village.
Adding to its charm, nearly 300 Bac Ninh residents participated in the MV, ranging from children to elderly individuals, some nearly 90 years old, enhancing the cultural authenticity and emotional depth of “Bac Bling”.
After the resounding success of both song and MV, Hoa Minzy received a certificate of merit from Bac Ninh authorities for her significant contribution to promoting the culture and tourism of her hometown.
