Randy Orton has a chance at championship gold after winning the men’s “Elimination Chamber” match on Saturday.
As a prize for winning the gruesome bout, the 14-time world champion is set to face Drew McIntyre for his WWE Championship on “WrestleMania 42” next month.
The match has six competitors all enclosed in a specialised steel structure, with each corner having a holding cage where a superstar stays before being released.
Two wrestlers start the match, and every five minutes, a competitor’s cage opens and enters the bout.
The goal of a wrestler is to eliminate opponents by pinfall or submission, and the last man standing is declared the winner.
Orton outlasted The Vision’s Logan Paul, LA Knight, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans and Cody Rhodes.
Chaos at the Chamber
Paul controlled the match, eliminating Knight, Williams and Evans.
But his dominance came to a close when The Vision’s masked man problem made itself known during the night.
A masked man tried to climb the cage but was stopped by security before making an interference.
However, it was all just a distraction as another masked man snuck in the cage and delivered a “Curb Stomp” to Paul, as Rhodes eliminated him.
The masked assailant then revealed himself as Seth Rollins, the man who both built The Vision and was kicked out by the group.
The interference did not stop there, as WWE Champion McIntyre appeared and clocked Rhodes on the back of the head.
Orton helped Rhodes fend off McIntyre, as he hit an “RKO” while Rhodes put the Scottish big man to sleep with a “Cross Rhodes”.
As Rhodes stood up to recover, Orton then hit another “RKO” to his long-time friend and mentee to win the match.

McIntyre’s fate
McIntyre has been the bane of Rhodes’ existence ever since winning the championship from him, as the “Scottish Psychopath” keeps on interfering in the “American Nightmare’s” matches.
“SmackDown” General Manager Nick Aldis, who was irate by McIntyre’s actions, made a scathing announcement during the post-show.
“Drew McIntyre, I’ve told you time and time again to stay out of this and let this happen the right way so the one man could earn the shot to face you at ‘WrestleMania’, but you couldn’t do that, could you?”
“Like a little boy, you can’t stand when the attention isn’t all on you. Well, it’s all on you now, Drew,” Aldis said.
He then announced that this Friday on “SmackDown”, McIntyre is set to defend his WWE Championship against Rhodes.
