Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc has made a triumphant return to the top step of the F1 podium, ending a 624-day wait with a sensational victory at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
Leclerc delivered a composed and determined performance to secure his first win since the 2024 United States Grand Prix.
He crossed the finish line ahead of George Russel from the Mercedes team, while Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton completed the podium in third, giving the Scuderia another memorable afternoon.
250 wins for Ferrari
The victory also marked Ferrari’s 250th F1 Grand Prix win, making the occasion even more historic for the legendary Italian team.
Following the race, Leclerc reflected on the emotional significance of the achievement, admitting that the 2026 season had tested him mentally.
Despite setbacks and frustrations, he remained committed to his team and continued believing that better days would come. His perseverance ultimately paid off in spectacular fashion at Silverstone.
“After Monaco, the feeling wasn’t there. I crashed in Q3, then in the race we had an issue and that ended our race,” Leclerc said.
“In Barcelona, the feeling was good but I crashed again. It was very difficult mentally.
“Austria wasn’t so great but here I managed to put everything together and I hope I can keep that momentum going forward.”
