Thousands of fans gathered in Birmingham on Wednesday to say goodbye to singer Ozzy Osbourne, who died on July 22, aged 76.

The Black Sabbath frontman was laid to rest in his hometown just three weeks after his last public appearance.

Osbourne had played a huge farewell concert in Birmingham with his band on July 5.

The rock legend had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019.

His health had also been degenerating in recent years after he suffered a fall.

‘We love you Ozzy!’

Osbourne’s funeral procession accompanied the rockstar through the English city’s landmarks for one last time as family members and fans followed behind.

A visibly emotional Sharon Osbourne, Ozzy’s wife, was among them.

Aimee, Kelly, and Jack Osbourne, the couple’s daughters and son, were by her side.

Kelly was seen wearing purple-tinted round sunglasses, in a subtle nod to her father.

Sharon, dressed in all black, was wearing a golden chain around her neck, to which Ozzy’s wedding ring was attached.

Fans could be heard singing the rock star’s name and someone shouted, ‘We love you, Ozzy!’ from the crowd.

The procession also stopped at the famous Black Sabbath bench, a tribute attraction featuring portraits of all four band members.

The bench, located on Broad Street, was covered in flowers and messages from fans.

Some beer bottles and empty glasses could also be seen on the landmark.

‘We lost our brother’

Black Sabbath’s Tony Iommi said they had “lost our brother” shortly after Osbourne’s death.

“He loved what he did, he loved music, he loved playing together, and I’m so glad we had the opportunity of getting together again to do the farewell show,” Iommi told BBC Radio 4’s Today.

“It was brilliant being with all the guys again, and the atmosphere, and it was brilliant for Ozzy because he really wanted to do that, he felt at home there and it was good for all of us,” he explained.

“We started July 2025 with a grandiose celebration for Ozzy and ending it with his funeral. It’s difficult to accept. OZZY FOREVER!”, a user wrote on X.
