After tying the knot last year, Millie Bobby Brown and Jake Bongiovi have begun an exciting new chapter: parenthood!

The “Stranger Things” star and her husband revealed in a joint Instagram post on Thursday that they welcomed a “sweet baby girl” this summer, adding that they are “beyond excited” to embrace their new roles in peace and privacy.

“This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy,” the couple wrote.

The announcement was accompanied by a sketch of a willow tree and the Beatles’ Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, along with the simple caption: “And then there were 3.”

The pair did not share the child’s name, but they emphasised their wish for privacy as they began family life.

From Hawkins to Hollywood love story

Brown, age 21, is best known for her breakout role as Eleven in Netflix’s supernatural hit “Stranger Things”, which is set to conclude with its fifth and final season this year.

She has also starred as the lead in Netflix’s “Enola Holmes” films, in “Damsel” and “The Electric State”, and has appeared in the “Godzilla” franchise.

Apart from acting, Brown has also ventured into writing, with the release of her debut novel “Nineteen Steps” back in 2023, the story being inspired by her grandmother’s experiences during the Second World War.

Meanwhile, Bongiovi, 23, is a model and the son of musician Jon Bon Jovi.

The couple first met through a mutual friend and connected online before confirming their relationship publicly in 2021.

Since then, they’ve made regular red-carpet appearances and shared glimpses of their life, including the farm where they live, surrounded by animals.

The actress herself has long been passionate about rescue work, and told Vogue that she has fostered more than 230 dogs.

In past interviews, Brown has spoken openly about her desire to raise a family, even mentioning the possibility of adoption.

And in March, she told the SmartLess podcast that starting a family was “so important” to her, while still balancing her work as an actor and producer.

An intimate, private wedding

The adoption news comes less than a year after Brown and Bongiovi celebrated their marriage with family and friends at Villa Cetinale in Italy.

The pair had quietly tied the knot in May 2024 before hosting the larger celebration in October, according to a report by People Magazine.

Brown wore two gowns during the occasion: a lace-detailed dress designed by Galia Lahav, along with a sheer veil, followed by a satin off-the-shoulder gown for the reception. Bongiovi opted for a classic ivory tuxedo jacket with black trousers.

Sharing their photos online, Brown captioned her post, “Forever and always, your wife,” while Bongiovi echoed with “Forever and always, your husband.”

Guests included their parents and close relatives, while Bongiovi’s father confirmed the intimate ceremony, describing it as “a very small family wedding” and calling the newlyweds “fantastic.”
