On Tuesday, May 5, the eighth episode of Marvel’s ‘Daredevil’ reboot released on Disney+, closing off an action-packed second season.
What is ‘Daredevil: Born Again’?
‘Born Again’ is a continuation of Netflix’s critically acclaimed ‘Daredevil’ (2015-2019), based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name.
After Disney regained the license to Daredevil and other characters on Netflix’s catalogue, the shows were transferred to their Disney+ streaming site.
In 2025, the revival series ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ was released, with many beloved characters from the original returning to the screen.
Charlie Cox reprises his lead role as Matt Murdock, who fights injustice as a blind lawyer by day, and as the vigilante Daredevil by night.
The revival series picks up several years after the original story and a year since Murdock has retired from the Daredevil persona.
However, when his long-time nemesis and crime kingpin Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio) is elected as the mayor of New York, the lawyer is compelled to return to his old habits.
What happens in season two?
Season one ends in suspense, with Fisk’s corrupt rule legally prohibiting vigilantes and unleashing a brutal task force.
The second season resumes straight into the action and finds Murdock’s assembled rebellion operating in the shadows to reclaim the city.
In a constant back and forth, Murdock and Fisk descend into their alter egos, and the events divide New York into two clashing factions.
As the season progresses, neither side is left unscathed as both suffer major losses and make sacrifices.
The final episode erupts into an ultimate collision between the nemeses, leaving room for no winners on either side.

What can fans expect next?
The season ends on a compromising note for both Murdock and Fisk.
With Fisk forced out of New York and Murdock imprisoned and revealed as Daredevil, the state of both of their futures is uncertain.
While keeping the future of Daredevil’s story secret, the ‘Born Again’ showrunner teased fans with a clue, referencing “a very, very legendary run with Matt in jail”.
Additionally, set leaks have revealed the return of Finn Jones, who previously played Iron Fist on another one of Netflix’s cancelled Marvel shows.
Considering the return of Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Luke Cage (Mike Colter) in the second season, fans are speculating a reunion of the ‘Defenders’ vigilante group when Daredevil returns to the screen.
Disney confirmed a third season in September 2025, with a scheduled release for March 2027.
The full second season, as well as the original ‘Daredevil’ series are now available to watch on Disney+.
