On 11 May, Baller League UK had its 10th matchday, which brought major upsets, suspenseful match-ups, and an exciting rest-of-season ahead.
The six-aside football league, now in its third season, had an electric penultimate day of matches.
With marginal point differences between the top half of the table, a lot was on the line for teams to either cement their positions in the final, or fight their way in.
What is Baller League?
Baller League is a six-a-side football tournament featuring celebrity managers, high-speed matches, and unpredictable gamechangers.
Some team managers include actor Idris Elba, internet superstar KSI, and football icon Ian Wright.
Each team faces every other team once, with each win securing three points, each loss zero, and drawn matches scoring one point for either side.
The league was started by German entrepreneur Felix Starck, who grew up as a football fan and was inspired by American sport entertainment during his studies abroad.
After launching in Germany in 2024, Baller League’s success led to iterations in the UK in 2025, and the USA in 2026.
This month, the UK edition is approaching the end of a rollercoaster third season after its penultimate matchday on Monday, 11 May.

A tense start to the night
Game one kicked off with controversy.
Bottom-of-the-league Community FC faced off against the season’s top scorers, the notorious Prime FC, managed by internet juggernaut KSI.
However, nobody could’ve predicted the score leaning 2-1 in Community’s favour in the game’s final minutes.
Their miraculous moment was snuffed out when a questionable goal was given to Prime, drawing the game.
Nevertheless, Community walked away as dominators of the match after proving their grit, while KSI’s superstar side added yet another team onto their list of enemies.
Tensions continued into match two as Ian Wright’s Wembley Rangers and Chloe Kelly’s Clutch FC faced off.
Although the Arsenal icons had a far more amicable face-off, the stakes of the game were severe, as a win for either side would definitively exclude the other from the final.
After a near comeback, Wembley was the team to come in clutch and secure the fourth spot on the table – one they’ll surely be wanting to defend after winning Season Two.
Personalities collide
Match three put Mark Goldbridge’s Gold Devils and Niko Omilana’s NDL FC sides against each other.
Although you might expect NDL’s comfortable top-of-table position to clear them, Goldbridge’s notorious ‘giant-killers’ were aptly prepared.
Unfortunately, the match did not go their way, and Niko’s powerhouse won the game to break the Baller League point record (even if it involved some more refereeing controversy).
Following that match, the ‘original Baller League rivalry’ returned: SDS FC and Yanited, led by internet creators Sharky and AngryGinge respectively.
After an intense feud in the first UK season, the teams’ beef has since simmered down, but the passion of both managers has certainly not.
Despite Yanited’s weaker season three, they put up a good fight for a tight 30 minutes, ending the game at 6-6 to leave SDS in a desperate position next week.

A battle at the bottom
To end the night, three of the lower ranking teams faced off.
Despite VZN FC’s late-season redemption, they fell short against N5, although neither team’s result influenced too much of the table’s standings overall.
The final match of the evening saw the second and second-last teams on the table playing out, in a much closer match than anticipated.
Resulting in a 2-2 draw, Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge’s Deportrio earned another point to keep them comfortably in the final four.
With matchweek 11 on Monday, all is on the line for the teams still wanting to make the final on 25 May.
Baller League UK is available to watch on Sky Sports, YouTube, and Twitch.
