Disney’s live-action adaptation of Tangled is officially in production, and the first behind-the-scenes set photos have surfaced online.
Production gets underway in Spain
Filming is taking place at Ciudad de la Luz Studios in Alicante, Spain, which was confirmed as the project’s main production hub after months of negotiations between Disney and regional authorities.
The first official image released by Disney showed Rapunzel’s iconic tower under construction.
More recently, leaked photos from the set have offered an unfiltered look at the film’s lead actors in costume, quickly spreading across social media.
First look at Rapunzel and Flynn Rider
The leaked images show Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim filming scenes in character, giving fans an early glimpse of how the animated favourites have been reimagined for live action.
Croft has also debuted a short pixie haircut, which appears to relate to the story’s climax involving Rapunzel, Flynn Rider and Mother Gothel, played by Kathryn Hahn.
The behind-the-scenes photos were reportedly taken by visitors or paparazzi rather than released by Disney, making them the clearest unofficial look at the film so far.

Cast and creative team
The Greatest Showman director Michael Gracey is helming the adaptation, bringing his experience with large-scale musicals to Disney’s beloved fairy tale.
The cast includes Teagan Croft as Rapunzel, Milo Manheim as Flynn Rider, Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel and Diego Luna in a brand-new mystery role created specifically for the live-action adaptation.
While Disney is expected to retain the original film’s popular musical numbers, plot details remain under wraps.
Fans divided by early images
Reaction to the leaked photos has been mixed.
Some fans believe Croft and Manheim capture the spirit of the animated characters, while others have questioned aspects of the costume design, particularly Flynn Rider’s look.
The project has already faced a challenging journey to production after being paused earlier in 2025 before moving forward with its confirmed cast.
Disney has not yet announced an official release date or released a trailer.
With filming now in full swing, more cast announcements, official images and story details are expected in the coming months.
