Imagine catching a pal, building a base, and exploring with friends in your mobile phone.

Garena wants you to do all three in “Palworld Online,” a new mobile massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) based on Pocketpair’s breakout hit “Palworld,” marking the franchise’s biggest expansion since the survival creature-collecting game exploded in popularity on PC.

Developed and published by Garena under an official license from Pocketpair, “Palworld Online” reimagines the original game’s blend of monster collecting, survival, crafting, and exploration for mobile devices while introducing a large-scale multiplayer world.

A new world of Pals

Rather than simply porting the original game to smartphones, the upcoming game introduces a brand-new setting, original story elements, and an MMO structure built around shared adventures.

Players will explore a seamless open world alongside creatures known as Pals, uncovering hidden lore, capturing companions, and unlocking new regions as they progress. The game will also feature exclusive side stories created specifically for the mobile version.

Garena says it is working closely with Pocketpair to preserve the freedom, depth, and sense of discovery that helped make the original title a global phenomenon.

Together, not alone

One of the biggest changes is the gameplay shift.

Players will be able to meet others in the game world, form groups, build settlements together, tackle PvE challenges, and compete in PvP activities. Those looking for a more relaxed experience can visit friends’ bases, hunt rare Pals, or team up against world bosses.

Shared settlements also play a major role in the experience, allowing players to create collaborative hubs for crafting, defense, and everyday life while assigning Pals to automate production and other tasks.

The next step for monster collectors

The announcement highlights a growing trend in gaming: transforming successful single-player or co-op franchises into persistent online worlds.

Titles like “Genshin Impact”, “Wuthering Waves”, and “Monster Hunter Now” have shown that players are willing to invest hundreds of hours into mobile experiences when they offer social features and long-term progression.

“Palworld Online” appears to be Garena’s attempt to bring that same formula to one of gaming’s hottest creature-collecting IPs.

The company has not yet announced an exact launch date, but “Palworld Online” is scheduled to be released in 2026, with additional details expected in the coming months.
