Queen of Power Ballads Celine Dion has denied having AI-generated songs and has warned her supporters to be wary of fake music performances circulating on different online platforms.
Dion failed to name any exact recording, but the issue has again highlighted the growing debate regarding the use of AI in the entertainment industry.
“It has come to our attention that unsanctioned, AI-generated music purporting to contain Celine Dion’s musical performances, and name and likeness, is currently circulating online and across various Digital Service Providers,” the “My Heart Will Go On” singer said on Instagram.
“Please be advised that these recordings are fake and not approved, and are not songs from her official discography,” the post added.
Fans also expressed their disappointment regarding the matter, with some Instagram users highlighting the negative effects of AI.
“We already know Celine. We just like to imagine a world where we hear you sing every song we love with that magical voice of yours. Al will never live up to the real artist and is sometimes painful lol… It would be cool to see what fans gravitate towards to do an official version/cover on your next project,” one user commented.
“If fans are real fans they will not generate their artistes’ likeness nor should they support the generated work,” another fan added.

Artists speak out against AI
Many artists have already rejected the use of AI in the music industry even before Dion issued an official statement on Instagram regarding AI-generated songs and performances.
Famous singers such as Billie Eilish, the Jonas Brothers, Katy Perry and Miranda Lambert signed an open letter in 2024 that highlighted the growing threats of AI.
It was the Artist Rights Alliance that organized the open letter to encourage production companies, platforms, and digital services to stop using AI, CNN reported.
The non-profit group said that the open letter was meant to protect the rights of human artists.
Dion aims for music comeback
The 56-year-old artist was forced to cancel all of her upcoming performances in 2022 after being diagnosed with stiff person syndrome.
The health issue triggered muscle spasms and greatly affected Dion’s singing capabilities.
The singer released her “I Am: Céline Dion” film on Prime Video to share her efforts for a music comeback after being forced to cancel her world tour.
Dion’s last major performance was during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Her Olympics appearance was welcomed by many fans since Dion also shares updates regarding her stiff person syndrome on her Instagram account.
