MAMAMOO’s long-awaited Manila return reminded fans why the quartet remains one of K-pop’s most respected live acts.
The vocal powerhouse returned to the Araneta Coliseum on August 8 for the Manila stop of its “4WARD” world tour, marking their first group concert in the Philippines in three years.
The show reunited Solar, Moonbyul, Wheein, and Hwasa with Filipino MooMoos, who packed the venue despite heavy rains.
A trip through 12 years of MAMAMOO
While “4WARD” points toward the group’s future, much of the concert felt like a celebration of the girls’ journey so far.
MAMAMOO opened the evening with their debut track “Mr. Ambiguous,” before moving through fan favorites such as “Egotistic,” “Starry Night,” “Aya,” “Hip,” “Gogobebe,” and “Decalcomanie.”
The setlist also highlighted the group’s versatility. Powerful vocal showcases like “I Miss You” sat alongside upbeat crowd-pleasers, while a trot-inspired version of “Taller Than You” added a playful twist to one of the group’s most beloved songs.
Fan service takes center stage
One of the night’s biggest surprises came before the group even reached the stage.
Instead of making a traditional entrance, Solar and Moonbyul emerged from the audience during “Mr. Ambiguous,” drawing immediate screams from fans as they made their way toward the main stage.
Throughout the concert, the members frequently left the stage to interact with fans across different sections of the venue.
They took selfies, held hands, borrowed phones, and spent significant time walking through the crowd, creating a more intimate atmosphere than a typical arena show.

Solo colors shine
The concert also highlighted the distinct musical identities each member has developed through their solo careers.
Hwasa performed her synth-pop track “So Cute,” Wheein brought rock energy through “The Symphony of Fxxkboys,” Moonbyul delivered “Hertz,” and Solar showcased her vocals with the jazz-blues number “Blues.”
Together, the performances demonstrated how each member has evolved individually while maintaining the chemistry that has defined MAMAMOO for more than a decade.
Forward together
The concert carried extra significance for fans.
Earlier this year, MAMAMOO made their first group comeback in three years and eight months with “4 Flowers” and the special single album “4WARD.”
The group’s recent activities have largely focused on solo projects, making the reunion tour a reassuring reminder that MAMAMOO remains committed to moving forward together.
As the concert came to a close, fans surprised the quartet with a tribute video and a commemorative cake celebrating the group’s history, while the members thanked Filipino MooMoos for their unwavering support and for braving the rain to see them.
Three years may have passed since MAMAMOO’s last Manila concert, but judging by the reception inside the Big Dome, neither the group nor its Filipino fans missed a beat.
