The 2026 League of Legends Championship Korea (LCK) Cup will hold its final game in Hong Kong, the first match in its 14-year run to be held outside South Korea.
“Witness the crowning of the LCK CUP champion and see which teams will secure their spots in the First Stand. We look forward to your support for this epic showdown in Hong Kong,” the LCK management wrote in a post on X.
Riot Games confirmed that the Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final of the series will be held on February 28 and March 1 at Kai Tak Arena, located within the newly developed Kai Tak Sports Park in Kowloon City.
Both match days will feature best-of-five series, with the top two teams qualifying for the First Stand international tournament in Brazil.
LCK to go global
The overseas final showcases LCK’s bid to go global, accommodating its growing international fan base.
In a post on X, LCK host and caster Wolf “Wolf” Schroder opened the possibility of the Cup happening in other countries in the future, specifically in Vietnam and the Philippines, two of the largest LCK international fan bases in Asia.
“It was only a matter of time before we started to travel! I think there’s even potential to see roadshows expanded domestically for playoffs,” wrote Schroder.
“I’d love to cast the LCK in Vietnam or the Philippines!”
Likewise, caster Daniel “dGon” Gonzales wrote: “FIRST FINALS ABROAD! PHILIPPINES NEXT?”

Hong Kong sees potential boost in esports tourism
Hong Kong was selected based on regional accessibility, transport links, and venue capacity.
The arena, which opened in 2025 and seats more than 10,000 spectators, has been designated a major event site by local authorities.
Hotels and retail districts near the venue are expected to accommodate fans from all over the globe.
The finals will also cap a transition year for the LCK format, with scheduling adjustments tied to the international esports calendar and the upcoming Asian Games.
Thrilling finale, fan festivals
Competition remains tight heading into the playoff rounds, with leading teams such as T1, Gen.G, and Dplus advancing deep into the group stage.
Beyond matches, organisers will run a multi-day fan festival alongside the finals, featuring cosplay events, team booths, merchandise stores, and interactive zones.
A pop-up retail outlet will also operate in the city for two weeks before the championship weekend.
