Taylor Swift has made another one of her songs unavailable for use by the United States President Donald Trump on TikTok.
This comes after Team Trump’s TikTok account uploaded a video using Swift’s song “August.”
The video shows the US president with First Lady Melania Trump watching fireworks.
The text on the video reads: “Mood because it’s August and Donald Trump is your president.” It also contains the caption, “I’m sure @TaylorSwift is going to be super excited we used her song!”
The video, which now plays without audio, displays a notice stating “This sound isn’t available.”
Team Trump posted another video using Swift’s “Red,” with a caption stating “Did you know Taylor Swift wrote a whole album about the color of the Republican Party.”
Meanwhile, Swift’s music is still available for personal TikTok posts.
According to reports, at least 10 Taylor Swift songs are unavailable for use by Trump, including “Red (Taylor’s Version),” “August,” “Love Story,” “Daylight,” “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Opalite,” “Father Figure,” “I Knew It, I Knew You” and “Cruel Summer.”
Trump’s past use of Taylor Swift’s songs
Team Trump has repeatedly used Taylor Swift’s songs in the past.
In June, Trump posted a video, captioned “Nobody loves our country & the American People more than @PresidentDonaldJTrump.” It used “I Knew It, I Knew You.”
In April, the White House used “High Infidelity” in a video showing Trump meeting the crew members of Artemis II.
Last year, a TikTok video posted by the White House used “The Fate of Ophelia.” Another video also used her song “Father Figure.”
In September 2024, Trump posted “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” after the singer announced that she would be voting for Kamala Harris.
Other artists who requested not to use their song for Trump’s campaign
Aside from Swift, multiple other artists have blocked and requested for Trump to stop using their songs on social media.
Recently, Bad Bunny made “EoO” unavailable for use by the White House account after it posted a video using the song.
During Trump’s 2024 campaign, artists including Beyonce, Celine Dion, Olivia Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter asked Trump to not use their music for his political agenda.
Other notable artists who refused to let Trump use their music for his previous campaigns are ABBA, Adele, Aerosmith, The Beatles, Elton John, Guns N’ Roses, Katy Perry, Kesha, Linkin Park, Nickelback, Pharrell Williams, Queen, Radiohead, Rihanna and SZA.
