Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding weekend at Madison Square Garden is basically right around the corner, just a few days away.
The secrecy around it has turned into almost as much of a headline as the wedding itself.
A source told NBC News that well over 1,000 guests are expected to show up for the wedding festivities at the arena on July 3.
The invitees received non-disclosure agreements along with their electronic invitations.
Invitations designed to be leak-proof
The invitations are also intentionally vague, almost to a point that it feels intentional.
According to TMZ, the invites don’t mention Madison Square Garden at all; they only list “New York City” and the date instead.
TMZ also said the invitations are watermarked with each guest’s name. So if a photo ever shows up online, the couple can trace it back to the specific attendee right away.
Even close friends are in the dark
Perhaps the clearest sign of how tightly the secrecy is being managed is that even people inside the couple’s inner circle don’t appear to know the details.
San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle confirmed he and his wife will attend, but admitted he has no idea where the ceremony will actually take place.
“I actually asked Travis last night and he laughed at me,” Kittle told Entertainment Tonight.
“I’m half expecting there to just be a jumbo jet on a runway, and they put us on a plane somewhere”.
Kittle also revealed one more rule guests have been given: no gifts.

Why this venue, why this weekend?
The choice of Madison Square Garden has fueled plenty of speculation on its own.
The world’s most famous arena had no events scheduled on its calendar between June 29 and July 6, leaving a conveniently empty window for the celebration.
A permit has also been filed with New York City to close the streets surrounding the venue from July 2 through midday on July 4.
This time period lines up with the rumored timeline for the festivities.
The date itself appears deliberate too. July 3 falls just ahead of the July 4 holiday weekend, giving guests built-in time off.
Taylor Swift has previously spoken about her love of numerology, joking that the date works out when its digits are added together.
Even the mayor got pulled in
The secrecy has spread well beyond the guest list.
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani was asked about the wedding during a live interview with ABC News.
He sidestepped it completely and dodged the question.
“Are you hearing that?” he joked, “I think they’re calling me out”.

What the weekend could look like
Reports say the event will play out over two days, with a more intimate ceremony where around 100 guests are expected on July 2.
Then the next day, a bigger celebration with close to 1,000 people is rumored, and it might feature live performances as well.
Stevie Nicks is also being mentioned as one of the acts.
For this famous couple, holding a wedding with more than 1,000 guests while staying out of sight is not an easy task.
So whether the quiet plan actually survives the weekend may become its own little saga once the celebrations finish.
