Adani Ports Mundra has set a new benchmark in India’s maritime sector by successfully discharging 66,800 metric tonnes (MT) of Degummed Soybean Oil (DSBO), the largest single edible oil cargo ever handled at an Indian port.
The milestone underscores the growing importance of efficient liquid bulk logistics in supporting India’s edible oil supply chain and highlights Mundra Port’s ability to manage large-scale cargo movements with precision, safety, and efficiency.
The shipment arrived from San Lorenzo, Argentina, one of the world’s leading agricultural export hubs, according to The Maritime Executive.
Handling the 229-metre vessel, with a displacement of 88,830 MT, required detailed planning, seamless coordination and effective deployment of marine, terminal, safety, engineering and support resources.
Teams worked closely with the vessel’s crew and other stakeholders to ensure the cargo was discharged safely and efficiently while adhering to established operational and safety standards.
