American pop megastar Taylor Swift announced on Tuesday her engagement to NFL player Travis Kelce after months of speculation.
The songwriter posted a carousel of romantic photos of her and her partner on Instagram, with the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married”, adding a dynamite emoji.
The post was accompanied by Swift’s song ‘So High School’, from her latest album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.
In the photos, the two can be seen in a garden adorned with flowers.
In one of them, Swift also shows off her engagement ring.
The dazzling gem, an 8-carat brilliant-cut old mine diamond, was created with Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry, according to British Vogue.
Best wishes
Felicitations arrived from all over the world, with US President Donald Trump commenting on the news live during the cabinet meeting: “I wish them a lot of luck. I think he’s a great player, I think he’s a great guy, and I think that she’s a terrific person, so I wish them a lot of luck.”
Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs, also posted their congratulations on X.
“Congrats to Travis and Taylor – we’re excited to have you as a permanent member of the Chiefs Kingdom family!”, the post said.
The news sent Taylor’s fans – the so-called ‘Swifties’ – into a frenzy.
Among them, Iga Swiatek, currently the second-best among women’s tennis players in the world, reacted by saying, “I’m just happy for her, because she deserves the best.”
Swift’s Instagram post was liked more than 28 million times as of Wednesday morning.

Happy Together
Swift and Kelce, both 35, recently appeared on ‘New Heights’, the podcast that the NFL star hosts with his brother, Jason Kelce.
During the interview, Swift revealed that she was not a football fan before meeting Kelce.
“I didn’t know what a first down was, or a tight-end,” she joked.
“This podcast gave me a boyfriend,” she added, referring to the multiple occasions in which Kelce talked about her on the broadcast before they started dating.
“My relatives, my cousins, were like, ‘Please, please, please, he’s amazing’. […] There were a lot of people whispering in my ear about you,” she said.
During the programme, the popstar also announced her next album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, which will be released on October 3rd.
