The legendary character of Nanno is returning to Netflix on March 7 – with a new face but as much mystery – for the highly anticipated reboot of popular Thai thriller anthology “Girl From Nowhere”.
Netflix Thailand relaunched the hit show as “Girl from Nowhere: The Reset” on its social media channels on January 13, naming rising young actress Becky Armstrong as the new enigmatic Nanno, an immortal entity, neither evil or good, with the power to expose the lies and misdeeds of everyone she meets.
“If everything’s the same, it wouldn’t be called karma,” reads the caption of the reveal poster posted on Instagram.
The surprise announcement earned an overwhelmingly positive response from the public, as netizens expressed excitement for Armstrong to take on the challenging role.

Woman of many talents
But giving justice to a character is no longer an unexplored territory for the Thai-British artist, who first gained international recognition for her acting performance in the 2022 girls’ love series “Gap”.
In 2023, she starred in the romantic comedy movie “Long Live Love!”, which reportedly grossed THB100 million ($3,17 million), making it one of the most commercially successful Thai films that year.
At 23 years old, Armstrong, whose real name is Rebecca, has already made a significant mark in the Thai entertainment industry – not only as a superb actress but also as a recording artist and a fashion model.
In February 2025, she officially debuted as a soloist with her single “Pantone”, following the success of previous movie soundtrack collaborations.
Returning to TV screens in less than two months, Armstrong will once again prove she is well worthy of the reputation, as she brings to life a fictional icon, which, like herself, fascinates many.
A fresh spin
“Can’t wait for Becky to play Nanno,” a fan commented on Instagram.
“A new ear, a new universe, and WE ARE READY,” wrote another.
Showrunners have previously explained that “Girl from Nowhere: The Reset” is not a continuation of the last two seasons of “Girl from Nowhere”, which starred Chicha “Kitty” Amatayakul, but a standalone story set in a separate timeline, with an entirely different cast.
However, it is reported that the new instalment maintains its signature exploration of hypocrisy and secrets within Thailand’s private school system.
The hit Thai franchise premiered on Netflix in two seasons in 2018 and 2021 and became an instant success for its dark and thrilling narrative.
