Boracay’s White Beach has been named to TripAdvisor’s 2026 Best of the Best Beaches list, an acknowledgment that underscores the Philippines’ position as a leading tropical destination in the Asia-Pacific region.

The accolade places Boracay alongside internationally renowned beaches such as Banana Beach in Phuket, Thailand, Kelingking Beach in Indonesia, and Radhanagar and Palolem beaches in India.

Global recognition for a Philippine icon

TripAdvisor highlighted the selection as recognising destinations that receive consistently high praise from users over 12 months, a distinction earned by fewer than one per cent of its eight million listings.

The platform described Boracay White Beach as a destination that “draws a crowd for good reasons: soft white sand, turquoise waters, and amazing sunsets.”

Three stations, three experiences

The beach is divided into three sections, known as Stations 1, 2 and 3, each catering to distinct visitor segments.

Luxury travellers frequent Station 1, Station 2 serves leisure tourists, and Station 3 is popular with families and backpackers.

White Beach continues to serve as the central driver of Boracay’s tourism economy, attracting both domestic and international visitors.

Government highlights sustainable growth

Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco welcomed the recognition, emphasising the broader social and economic impact of the sector.

“More than the recognition, what truly matters are the lives sustained through tourism. Behind every award are thousands of Filipino workers—our boatmen, hotel staff, tour guides, transport operators, and micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, whose livelihoods depend on a thriving and sustainable tourism industry,” Frasco said in an interview.

The latest TripAdvisor accolade follows efforts by Philippine authorities to promote sustainable tourism in Boracay, building on previous initiatives to restore and preserve the island’s natural environment.

A benchmark for tropical destinations

By appearing on a global platform alongside other celebrated beaches, Boracay White Beach reinforces its reputation as a benchmark for tropical destinations in Southeast Asia, offering a combination of natural beauty, accessible amenities, and vibrant local culture for travellers worldwide.
