The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2026 is scheduled to take place from May 30 to July 11, bringing together 10 international fireworks teams, including four newcomers.
Teams from nine nations and territories, including Vietnam, China, Italy, Germany, Portugal, France, Japan, Macau, and Australia, will compete in this year’s festival, according to a Vietnam News Agency report.
The combination of seasoned performers and rookie teams is expected to result in a highly competitive and emotionally compelling season, organizers said.
‘United Horizons’
This year’s edition is themed “Da Nang – United Horizons,” a narrative intended to symbolize the city’s growing identity following administrative merger with neighboring Quang Nam province.
Organizers cited by travel media platform Travel and Tour World described the theme as a blend of natural beauty, cultural origins, architectural heritage, and forward-thinking tourism aspirations.
The festival’s program features six themed nights:
Nature – The event begins with explorations of the Earth’s elements
Heritage – Celebrates cultural identities and traditions
Culture – Showcases global artistic influences
Creative – Pushes pyrotechnic boundaries through innovation
Vision – Combines inventiveness with futuristic designs
United Horizons – The event concludes with bringing together the top performers in a spectacular showdown

Key component of tourism and trade
Presented as a flagship international cultural and tourism event, the DIFF intends to strengthen Da Nang’s position as a prime festival destination and increase travel demand throughout the summer season.
Nguyen Thi Anh Thi, vice-chairwoman of the Da Nang People’s Committee and chief of the festival’s organizing board, said that the city is following a long-term strategy to establish DIFF as a key component of its tourism and trade ecosystem.
Aside from fireworks displays, the festival will have a variety of satellite events aimed at boosting the city’s nighttime economy and expanding “meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions” tourism.
Meanwhile, concerts, art shows, river cruises, street entertainment, and nighttime gastronomic experiences are all aimed at extending visitor stays and boosting tourist spending.
