Singer-songwriter Laufey teased a star-studded cast for the music video for her latest single, “Madwoman”.
In a series of Polaroid photos shared on Instagram, the Chinese-Icelandic musician revealed that “Heated Rivalry” actor Hudson Williams, figure skater and Olympic gold medallist Alysa Liu, KATSEYE member Megan Skendiel and “The Summer I Turned Pretty” star Lola Tung will join her in the visuals for the song, which will be released on April 13.
Aside from that, Laufey also teased the cast in several TikTok posts.
On April 7, Laufey shared a TikTok of her and Megan, referencing a moment at the 2026 Golden Globes where the former was repeatedly misidentified as the latter.
Shortly after, the artist posted a clip of her and Liu dancing to the remix of “Stateside” by Pinkpantheress and Zara Larsson, the same song that the Olympian used in her free skate routine at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympic Gala.
It can also be recalled that the Olympic gold medallist used Laufey’s song “Promise” in her short program.
Liu also attended Laufey’s concert in September 2025 and was featured during a “Best Dressed Guest” segment, where the artist praised the athlete for being “the best figure skater in the world.”
Then, Laufey shared clips of Williams and Tung as the “madman” and the “madwoman” for the music video. Williams can be seen yelling at Laufey that he’s “in love with her sister”.
Fans were enthusiastic about the cast reveal, with them praising the “multi-fandom” collaboration combining notable figures in film, music, and sports.
Aside from that, fans also noted the cast’s shared East Asian-Western (“Wasian”) heritage.

‘Made it to the final hour’
“Madwoman” is part of the deluxe edition of Laufey’s critically acclaimed 2025 album “A Matter of Time”.
“A Matter of Time: The Final Hour”, released on April 10, features four new tracks, including “How I Get”, “I Wait, I Wait, I Wait” and “I’ll Forget About You (In Time).
“An introspection about learning to live with one’s anxieties – embracing uncertainty, accepting the passage of time and finding the calm after the storm,” a description on the singer’s website reads.
The 2025 album is a new sound for Laufey, representing a shift from jazz preservation to a more vulnerable side of her artistry. It won “Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album” at the 2026 Grammy Awards.
