A stellar line-up of musicians have come together to record the album Help 2, with proceeds from the March 6 release set to help children affected by war.
The album will be released by independent label War Child Records and is inspired by 1995’s The Help Album – an undertaking that gathered British indie and underground artists to raise funds and help children caught in the middle of conflict in Bosnia.
Help 2 will feature a diverse group of artists, namely: Arctic Monkeys, Olivia Rodrigo, Beabadoobee, The Last Dinner Party, Arlo Parks, Black Country New Road, Big Thief, Dove Ellis, English Teacher, Ezra Collective, Pulp, King Krule, Anna Calvi, Arooj Aftab, Bat For Lashes, Beck, Beth Gibbons, Cameron Winter, Damon Albarn, Depeche Mode, Ellie Rowsell, Foals, Fontaines D.C., Graham Coxon, Greentea Peng, Grian Chatten, Kae Tempest, Nilüfer Yanya, Sampha, Wet Leg and Young Fathers.
Creatives behind the scenes
Renowned English filmmaker and Academy Award winner Jonathan Glazer was the creative director of the project.
The central concept of his artistic direction was “by children, for children” and it features the point of view of young people in order to get the message across.
In addition, the album was produced by James Ford, who is known for being a member of the Last Shadow Puppets and Simian Mobile Disco.
James has also produced hits for Arctic Monkeys, Florence + The Machine, Depeche Mode, Foals, Gorillaz, Jessie Ware, Beth Gibbons and The Last Dinner Party.

War Child UK’s commitment
War Child UK head of music Rich Clarke recognised the diversity of artists and creatives in the album, noting that it is a powerful example of having a shared purpose of supporting children affected by war and its devastating impacts.
She told the War Child Records website: “We are immensely grateful to all the artists and teams who have donated their voices, talent and time to support our mission to ensure that no child is caught up in conflict zones.
“We hope this record not only raises vital funds, but also awareness of the urgent need to turn compassion into action and do more to protect children living through war.”
“All proceeds from this album support War Child UK to protect, educate and stand up for the rights of children living through conflict around the world,” added War Child Records in an Instagram post.
“The album, artists and creatives behind aim to convey that no child deserves to bear the pain and suffering of war.”
