Miley Cyrus’ next big era is on the way, complete with new music, a surprise rebrand, and a return to the concert stage.
After a series of cryptic social media posts and crimson-red-and-black “coming soon” billboards spread across New York City and Toronto, the three-time Grammy winner finally announced on Tuesday that her 10th studio album, Bass Persuades, will come out on September 18.
New label, new music
This will be her first album under her new label, Atlantic Records, and it comes a year after the release of Something Beautiful.
“Music takes hold of us. We feel it, sing it, sometimes dance to it, let it out and carry on. It is powerful, vulnerable, sweet and strong. Heart full, heartache, every part of life in between.”
“That’s what the title means to me,” she wrote on Instagram with a black-and-white portrait of herself with a rose in her mouth.
“Thank you for being a part of making my wildest dreams come true. I sincerely hope you love this album.”
The upcoming album will feature 10 songs, including the title track Bass Persuades, Different Religion with the New York rock band Model/Actriz, and Neon Signs with Andrew Wyatt, frontman of the Swedish electronic pop band Miike Snow.
It will also honor the legacy of Cyrus’ godmother and mentor, the late country music legend Dolly Parton, Rolling Stone reported, citing Atlantic.

Oh, she’s just being Miley
Before the album announcement, the Flowers singer removed her surname from all her social media handles and official website and rebranded her stage name to just Miley.
She now joins the ranks of mononymous powerhouses like Madonna, Cher, Beyoncé, Adele, Shakira, Rihanna, Prince, Drake, and Eminem.
Miley was born Destiny Hope Cyrus, but she later changed her legal name to Miley Ray Cyrus in 2008 in honor of her politician grandfather, Ronald Ray Cyrus.
Her father, Billy Ray Cyrus, said he was fine with Miley dropping her surname.
“It’s a natural progression for an iconic superstar legend. And the legend continues! Looking forward to the new album,” the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker said on X.
Hollywood Bowl debut
Miley also announced that she will perform at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles for the first time on October 16 and 18, marking her first return to the concert stage since 2022.
She will be joined there by Model/Actriz, known for songs such as Mosquito, Cinderella, and Diva.
“It’s been a while. The Hollywood Bowl is my favorite place to experience music and see my favorite artists. I’ve sat in those seats many times, but I’ve never taken the stage,” the 33-year-old said.
