Six-time League of Legends (LoL) Worlds champions T1 have once again established their dominance in Summoner’s Rift.

The professional gaming team bagged their first-ever Korea eSports Association (KeSPA) Cup championship title on Sunday, December 14.

T1 took the victory in a 3-2 best-of-five (Bo5) grand finale against rival Hanhwa Life Esports (HLE) – a match that fans worldwide have been watching closely as it is also T1’s first official game against its former attack damage carry (ADC) player and Worlds MVP, Minhyung “Gumayusi” Lee.

A thrilling series

T1 was initially projected to be this year’s KeSPA Cup champions after winning the first two games of the Bo5 series.

However, their road to the Cup’s title was almost cut short when HLE made a surprising comeback during Games 3 and 4, leading to a two-for-two match-up during Game 5.

What was expected to be a fierce battle ended within 22 minutes when T1 broke HLE’s Nexus in a landslide 23-1 victory.

“I’m very happy to win the KeSPA Cup with the new roster of [T1] players this year,” said the team’s headliner and mid-lane player Sanghyeok ‘Faker’ Lee during the post-game interview.

When asked about their goal for the upcoming 2026 tournament season, Faker said that the team is aiming to play better to win more championship titles in different tournaments.

Newcomer ADC ‘Peyz’ brings home Finals MVP

Gumayusi’s successor and T1’s newly-recruited ADC player Suhwan “Peyz” Kim was named the Finals MVP at the end of the tournament.

The 20-year-old prodigy, who became the youngest botlaner to win a Korean LoL championship title at the age of 17, shook spectators at the Sangam SOOP Colosseum with his hypercarry attack-focused playstyle that enabled his team to win some of the most heated teamfights during the tournament’s run.

“I’m very happy to win the MVP title during my first-ever tournament with T1,” Peyz said during his acceptance speech.

He promised to come back with a better performance in the upcoming tournament season.

Full game replays and highlights will be available for limited-time viewing on the online streaming platform Disney+, KeSPA’s official media distribution partner for this year’s tournament.
