Undisputed World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) Champion John Cena defended his title against long-time rival Randy Orton at last week’s “Backlash” after a match full of carnage.
Cena’s first title defence was a chaotic bout, as both superstars pulled out all the stops to get the upper hand.
The match featured broken tables, two referees, an appearance from the “SmackDown” general manager and a shocking interference from R-Truth.
The main event began with the two industry legends engaging in collar and elbow tie ups, as Cena proceeded to show his more evil side, poking the eye of Orton after offering a handshake.
The match picked up pace when Cena primed Orton for an “Attitude Adjustment”, but Orton countered the finisher with an “RKO” mid-air.
Chaos ensues
The match was put into disarray when an “RKO” attempt was countered, with Cena shoving off Orton which caused him to crash into the referee, knocking the official out.
Cena went out of the ring to grab his belt and try to knock Orton out with it, the same way he won the championship in “WrestleMania 41”.
The attempt was thwarted by Orton, who gave a smirking Cena another “RKO”.
The match continued outside the ring with Orton in control, giving Cena two “Attitude Adjustments” of his own through two tables.
He then hit Cena with another “RKO”, pinning him as a replacement referee running from backstage slid into the ring to count the pin, but Cena managed to kick out.
The replacement official was also knocked out by Cena, with Orton capitalising on the mishap to hit another “RKO”.

RKO spree
With no referee in sight, “The Apex Predator” then snapped, as officials came out to bring order to the chaos.
A frustrated Orton delivered five “RKOs” to the group of officials, which included General Manager Nick Aldis.
Unexpected help
Orton proceeded to ready his opponent for the dangerous “Punt Kick” as Cena superfan R-Truth came out of nowhere to beg Randy not to pull the trigger.
Truth became a victim of yet another “RKO”, as Cena capitalised off the distraction with a low blow, giving him a successful first title defence.
Aftermath
The carnage continued during Cena’s segment in the event’s press conference, which Truth interrupted to congratulate the “Last Real World Champion”.
He voiced support, which Cena liked, until Truth stated: “Even if people think you suck and can’t wrestle.”
Cena was visibly angry with that line, as he proceeded to give Truth an “Attitude Adjustment” through the press conference table.
The attack led to Cena’s next title defence, as he is set to face Truth in “Saturday Night’s Main Event” this weekend.
