The 2025 Korea eSports Association (KeSPA) Cup officially opened this week, launching a new chapter for Korean esports as the event welcomed North American League of Legends (LoL) professional teams into its roster for the first time.

The tournament, running from December 6 to December 14, is one of the most anticipated LoL off-season events this year.

The matches are currently being streamed globally via the online streaming media platform Disney+.

Cloud 9, Team Liquid to rumble with LCK teams

Ten LoL Champions Korea (LCK) teams will compete in this year’s tournament.

They will be joined by two teams from Japan and Vietnam, and for the first time since the Cup’s inception in 2005, two representatives from the North American League Championship Series (NA LCS).

The competing NA LCS teams are Cloud 9 and Team Liquid, two of the top professional gaming teams in North America.

All games will be taking place online, leading to an in-person grand final match at the Sangam SOOP Colosseum in Seoul.

The matches are expected to offer fans and spectators a sneak peek at the teams’ competitive forms ahead of the 2026 tournament season.

Game replays, highlights on Disney+

Full replays and highlights are currently being streamed for a limited time on Disney+.

It will provide both English and Korean game commentaries across 11 Asia-Pacific countries, including Korea, Japan, Australia, the Philippines, and Singapore.

The streaming service’s participation comes after KeSPA and Disney+ announced an exclusive deal earlier this year, making Disney+ the official media distribution channel for all KeSPA events.

It will also provide Team Korea’s esports coverage for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Games, which will feature online games like LoL, Honor of Kings, and Pokémon Unite.

The media deal is set to expand the platform’s reach beyond entertainment into competitive gaming.
