The inspiration behind the project
Travel blogger Ho Tan Tai (Win Di) shared with Vietnam News that his idea stemmed from his travels around the world, where passports are not only documents but also a bridge connecting tourists with destinations.
Seeing Sa Pa’s cultural and natural richness, he realized the town’s potential to benefit from a similar concept.
“Collecting each stamp feels like unlocking a new chapter in your adventure,” Win Di said.
“Instead of just snapping photos and moving on, you’re creating a personal log of memorable moments and footprints.”
Where to get your Sa Pa Passport
The “Sa Pa Passport: The Town in the Mist” can be purchased at Amazing Sapa Hotel, Chau Long Hotel and DeLaSol Hotel.
These locations are officially endorsed by the Lao Cai Tourism Association to ensure authenticity and fair pricing.
Best seasons to visit Sa Pa
Sa Pa’s breathtaking sceneries and cool climate make it a year-round destination, but certain seasons offer unique experiences:
Early Summer (May to June) – Mild temperatures and drifting clouds create a magical landscape. This season is ideal for cloud-hunting at O Quy Ho Heaven’s Gate, Fansipan Peak and Ham Rong Mountain.
Spring (March to April) – A paradise for nature lovers, as Fansipan’s summit bursts with vibrant rhododendrons, and thousands of cherry blossoms turn the hills into a fairytale setting. April also hosts the Rose Festival.
