Rumours linking BTS member Jungkook and aespa’s Winter have reignited fan debate — and this time, the reactions are polarised.
The latest surge of attention began on December 5 after netizens pointed out what they say are matching “puppy-face” tattoos on Jungkook and Winter. Many interpreted it as a possible “couple tattoo”.
Fans also flagged identical accessories and in-ear monitors, similar fashion choices and even parallel social-media usernames as additional clues.
Are they, or aren’t they?
“I mean, the man’s pushing 30. It’d be a bit weird if he didn’t have a gf right?” stated a girl in the rumoured couple’s edited video on TikTok.
“I hope their relationship is true and that they last a long time or forever despite all the hate they will get by [sic] parasocial people,” another commented.
Meanwhile, others remain unconvinced, calling such correlations circumstantial and pointing out that many “matching items” are mass-produced or widely used across the Korean-pop world.
Some have gone further, criticising the rumours as harmful to both artists and stressing that speculation without proof fuels online harassment rather than healthy discussion.
“I’m pretty sure that’s an extremely popular tattoo in Korea. Don’t think it’s that deep,” one argued. “I have nothing against them or what but damn, who would get a couple tattoos like that? I’m sorry.”

Silence from agencies
The silence of their separate agencies also adds to the tension.
BigHit Music (Jungkook’s agency) reportedly said it was “checking on the matter,” while SM Entertainment (Winter’s agency) responded with a simple “no statement at this time.”
Moreover, the lack of clarity has sparked comparisons to past long-running rumours — notably the saga involving V and Jennie — which remained unconfirmed until they eventually died down.
As the rumours circulate, both fan communities and casual observers await either confirmation or denial.
For now, the debate shows no signs of cooling, leaving many to question whether this will be another case of speculation without resolution, or if something more will come to light.
