In a high-octane close to Baller League UK’s season three, KSI’s Prime FC snatched the victory from favourites NDL to win their first season in the league.
The electric face-off shook a packed O2 Arena on Monday and left Niko Omilana’s devout fanbase with another fumbled final.
Redemption-filled semi-finals
There was something to prove in both match-ups in the evening’s semi-finals.
In the first match, top-of-table NDL FC faced SDS, who they had never defeated since joining the Baller League in season two.
With a wall of their fans stacked on one side of the O2, Niko Omilana’s NDL sent a rocket into the goal in the first minute.
Although SDS starboy and season one MVP Kazaiah Sterling replied with an equally-impressive goal, this would be SDS’s last goal of the entire match.
As the energy of both sides dwindled, NDL bagged two more goals to make it to their first final.
Next up, KSI’s Prime FC had to rematch Deportrio, one of the few teams to defeat them this season.
Led by Micah Richards and Daniel Sturridge, and featuring the season three MVP Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, all eyes were on Deportrio to go all the way.
Despite Emmanuel-Thomas’s hat-trick, Prime took it all the way to defeat Deportrio 5-3 in one of their best performances of the tournament.
The ultimate build-up
Fans could not have asked for a more exciting final.
NDL had a dominating season after comfortably finishing at the top of the table and only suffering two defeats.
Considering this and their unfortunate semi-final knockout in season two, a shot at the final was almost deserved.
Prime, on the other hand, stirred up a season of controversy amidst their debut.
Celebrity manager KSI entered the league with his mouth running rampant, with proclamations of 10-goal games and undefeated streaks.
While his and the team’s ego were backed by powerhouse performances, it quickly turned the entire league against Prime.
This is paired with the immense controversy surrounding the team, with multiple managers questioning how the side managed to secure so many of the league’s top players.
It’s only natural then that whenever their fire started faltering, Prime’s fall from grace was unanimously cheered, especially towards their winless streak in the final few weeks.
But after losing to NDL and facing weeks of trolling from Omilana, KSI and Prime’s hunger for redemption was still very much ignited going into the final.

A high-octane final
It became apparent very quickly that the stakes were at an all-time high for both sides, as the electric energy in the O2 was infectious even through the broadcast.
After some close calls and conversational balling, Prime broke the ice in the ninth minute as team captain Montel McKenzie assisted super striker Sak Hassan.
With the game officially in motion, Prime added a second goal which was almost denied by a false offside call, and then a third as Hassan pocketed a similar strike to his first.
The tension skyrocketed from there, and soon Omilana’s nonchalant, playful persona was nowhere to be seen as the team entered desperate territory.
With the untouchable NDL side still yet to show up for the occasion, the managerial party was even seen watching replays of the livestream to try and challenge decisions.
The game accumulated a series of fouls in the final moments of the first half, which included the likes of Prime’s goalkeeper being sent off.
However, even though this trend continued into the second half and the odds seemed stacked in NDL’s favour, the favourites failed to capitalise on their opportunities.
The scoreboard was tightened to 5-2 to Prime heading into the last three minutes, where the end-of-half game changer rule delivered a final chance to NDL on a silver platter.
But even Omilana’s unwavering specialist was off his mark, and the team failed to close the gap to save their chance at the trophy as McKenzie ruthlessly prevented any more goals for NDL.
KSI’s champions in their prime
As the timer ran out, an exuberant Prime stormed the pitch.
KSI was doused in water and thrown into the air by his team, who gave their best performance of the season when it mattered the most.
Both managers were emotional about their results in the post-match interviews, with Omilana left rarely dumbstruck at how his team let their guard slip at the league’s last second.
“I think the occasion just got to us,” he told an interviewer when asked what went wrong.
KSI, on the other hand, directed all the praise to the players, and thanked his supporters and haters alike for their season.
The accomplished creator, rapper and boxer expressed how much the achievement meant to him and the team, and ended his euphoric interview with his return to Baller League unclear.
It is yet to be confirmed whether Baller League UK will return for a season four, but it is expected to take place towards the end of 2026 if so.
