Roman Reigns successfully defended his World Heavyweight Championship against his cousin, Jacob Fatu, in a high-stakes “Tribal Combat” match in “Clash in Italy” at the Inalpi Arena.
“Tribal Combat” is a no-disqualification and no count-out match unique to the Anoaʻi wrestling dynasty, which Reigns and Fatu are a part of.
The victor of the match will not only win the belt, but will also become the “Head of the Table” of the legendary family.
The two Samoans did not waste their time in utilising “Tribal Combat” rules as they scuffled outside of the ring and to the crowd in the early stage of the match.
At one point, the champion made use of a concession stand to his offense, as he tossed a few buckets of popcorn to the crowd.
The two then returned to the ring, with Fatu driving Reigns to the steel steps at ringside.
“The Samoan Werewolf” then tried to place the steel steps in the ring, but Reigns recovered and managed to throw the stairs straight to Fatu’s skull.
The chaos continues
The two continued to batter each other until Fatu got the upper hand and locked the champion under the “Tongan Death Grip”, a submission that the challenger has been using ever since his feud started with Reigns.
But Reigns managed to escape by leaving the ring and hitting Fatu with a “Superman Punch” during a “Suicide Dive” attempt.
A malicious Reigns then hit Fatu’s right hand with a steel toolbox to prevent the challenger from using the deadly “Tongan Death Grip” again.
The champion then managed to hit his cousin with a “Spear” through the barricade in an attempt to finally put down his seemingly indestructible opponent.
He then hit another “Spear” in the ring but Fatu kicked out at two and a half.
A shocked Reigns then drove Fatu’s head to two exposed turnbuckles, but the younger Samoan hit the champion with a “Spear” out of nowhere.

Reigns digs deep
In the late stages of the match Fatu hit a “Moonsault” to Reigns, but the “OTC” dug deep in his arsenal and hit Fatu with a low blow as he got out of the pin, a normally illegal move he had previously used during his reign as WWE Champion.
As the two tried to recover, Fatu once again tried to lock Reigns in a “Tongan Death Grip”, but the champion easily got out of the submission and repeatedly bashed Fatu’s head in the exposed steel turnbuckle.
Reigns then hit Fatu with a “Spear” through a wooden table which was propped up at the corner of the ring.
Fatu swiftly recovered, but Reigns was ready and hit his cousin once again with a “Spear” to retain his championship and his position as “Tribal Chief”.
