Nicolas Jackson and Anthony will be under the spotlight when Chelsea face Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League Final in Poland on Wednesday night.

Chelsea striker Jackson missed the last two Premier League games of the season after a dismissal in a 2-0 away defeat at Newcastle United.

But he saw his team-mates secure fourth place and a Champions League spot with a final-day 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.

Debt to team-mates

The 23-year-old is back in Enzo Maresca’s matchday squad for the European final, and the Chelsea boss told a press conference ahead of the game at the Stadion Miejski in Wroclaw: “Nico [Jackson] is in debt with his team-mates.

“The reason is that at that moment, Newcastle away was for us the most important game and he left his team-mates with 10 players for one hour.

“For sure, he’s in debt. For sure, he’s a good guy. For sure, he recognised the mistake.

“He apologised to his team-mates. That is very important. And I’m sure that he’s going to do a very good game for us.”

Real Betis, meanwhile, will be hoping Anthony plays a starring role as he bids to prove another point to Manchester United, who sent him out on loan after he struggled to make an impact at Old Trafford following an £87million move to the North West from Ajax.

Shining under Betis coach

The 25-year-old Brazilian joined Betis on a six-month loan in January’s transfer window – and has flourished playing under head coach and former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

Anthony has bagged nine goals in 25 appearances for the Spanish team, helping them finish sixth in the La Liga table.

United have reportedly made him available in the summer transfer window, with Betis likely to face competition from Atletico Madrid and Juventus for his signature.

Pellegrini also faced the press ahead of the showdown with Chelsea, and says Anthony is fired up for the final following his ordeal at Old Trafford.

“I spoke with him before he came to Betis,” said Pellegrini, who will be managing Betis in their first European final.

“He told me that he was not playing because he was not happy.

“But he has a lot of complaints about what he has done. He wants revenge. I think he did it the way we know he can do it.

“It is not easy for you to pay 100 million (euros) for a player. Antony is a very good player. I am absolutely sure that this is a huge time for him to continue improving his career.”
