England’s 3-0 win over Wales at Wembley was a strong performance, but manager Thomas Tuchel was not pleased with the atmosphere.

Despite a fast start and a confident display from his team, Tuchel said he was disappointed by how quiet the home fans were during the match.

Tuchel disappointed by lack of atmosphere

“We could have been 5-0 up at half-time. We couldn’t score the fourth and fifth ones. The stadium was silent,” he said after the game.

“The stadium was silent. We didn’t get any energy back from the stands. We did everything to win.”

Tuchel added that for much of the first half, he could only hear the travelling Welsh supporters.

“If you hear just Wales fans for half an hour, it’s sad because the team deserved more support today.”

The England boss stressed that he normally praises English fans, especially for their passion in away games.

“I have said the support in Serbia was absolutely fantastic. I said it and I meant it. I love English football fans and support they give. The atmosphere did not match the performance on the field today,” Tuchel added.

England dominant from the start

Tuchel pointed out that his players had started the game perfectly, pressing high and dominating from the first whistle.

England scored three quick goals through Morgan Rogers, Ollie Watkins, and Bukayo Saka, leaving Wales struggling to respond.

Even with such a strong showing, Tuchel clearly wanted more from the supporters.

England delivered on the pitch, but their manager hopes the next time they play at home, the noise in the stands will match the passion on the field.

“We had excellent support in Serbia, but [here] we were 3-0 up after 20 minutes, we had ball win after ball win after ball win and I felt like why is the roof still on the stadium? That’s just it, it’s nothing big.

“We will do everything again to be infectious, there’s no problem. I’m sure we will get everyone going – it is on us. But tonight I was a little underwhelmed.”

The Three Lions face Latvia in their next match. The FIFA World Cup qualifier will take place on Tuesday, October 14, at the Daugava Stadium in Riga, Latvia.

Will Tuchel’s men keep up the momentum, and will the England fans turn up the passion?
