The Sacred Heart hospital staff is back on the silver screen as TV network EW released the first trailer for the ‘Scrubs’ revival on Tuesday.
The ABC medical comedy will officially return on February 25, 2026, but fans had the chance to see the much-loved protagonists of the show after a 15-year absence.
The original ‘Scrubs’, created by Bill Lawrence, first debuted in 2001 and continued for 9 seasons, until 2010.
The main story concluded with season 8, and most of the cast left at that point.
But the show ran for another season with new main characters to lead it, including actor Dave Franco.

‘I’m back, baby!’
‘Scrubs’ followed the life (and work shifts) of training doctor John J.D. Dorian (Zach Braff) as he learns how to navigate his new life at the Sacred Heart Hospital.
Its comedic vignettes (mostly created by J.D. ‘s incredibly imaginative mind) and fast-paced sketches gave the show a fresh, lighter take on medical dramas, especially in comparison to other products of the time, such as E.R., although it was also able to keep emotional moments.
The main cast also included Sarah Chalke as J.D. ‘s goofy love interest Elliot, Donald Faison as Turk, J.D.’s best friend and surgeon, and Judy Reyes as nurse Carla, Turk’s girlfriend.
The already iconic cast was completed by an array of remarkable secondary characters, including the almost legendary Dr. Cox (John C. McGinley), J.D. ‘s sarcastic mentor, and the mean-spirited Bob Kelso (Ken Jenkins), the hospital’s chief of medicine.
The series was a success, and it is considered one of the most iconic TV shows of the 2000s.
Only the last season was somewhat less successful than the previous eight, mainly due to the change of direction within the plot and the characters.
In the new trailer, J.D., Turk, and Elliot can be seen as they confidently walk through the hospital corridors, while J.D. blurts out, ‘I’m back, baby!’ to a new set of interns, who obviously have no idea who they are.
“Maybe try a different approach,” Turk suggests, before Dr. Cox and Carla also make their appearances.
“It’s good to be back!” J.D. then says with a smile.
It’s a good feeling, indeed – and we can’t wait to see if their amazing bromance has stood the test of time.
