Holler if you’re a Los Angeles Dodgers fan and you’re looking for something new for your favorite team early into the 2026 Major League Baseball season.

On Thursday, the Dodgers launched a permanent blue alternate jersey for road games.

The new jersey emphasises the team’s script design, gray accents and confirms it as a regular road uniform alongside the two gray options.

The announcement comes after speculation from fans and the appearance of photos on social media from retailers.

The new jersey was also listed on both the Fanatics website and the “MLB The Show 26” video game.

The Dodgers previously wore blue in the regular season, most recently during the 2021 to 2023 season.

Much earlier, the LA-based team played six games wearing the blue uniform in 1999 for the “Think Blue Week”.

New Dodgers look similar to spring training tops

The blue jersey appears a “clean” resemblance from the Dodgers’ tops during spring training. This features the traditional “Los Angeles” script that was first worn in 1959.

The team wore the jersey until the MLB organisation changed its away wordmark to the “Dodgers” in 1970.

The “Los Angeles” script made a comeback in 1999. Resembling an alternative from all their other uniforms that carry the LA logo, the script Dodgers logo is seen on one of the team’s sleeves.

The gray piping on the sleeves and a gray outline on the traditional red front numbers to match their gray pants finishes off the design.

The new alternate jersey brings the Dodgers’ road uniforms to three. It will be the MLB ballclub’s third option behind both of their grays – one that reads “Dodgers” across the front and the other with “Los Angeles”.

Three-peat-seeking Dodgers off to a good start

The back-to-back defending champions are off to a good start this season, going 4-2 in their first six games.

The Dodgers swept the Arizona Diamondbacks in their season opener, scoring 16 runs in the first three games.

However, the interleague series with the Cleveland Guardians saw them losing two games and were limited to three runs in both setbacks.

The Dodgers made amends in the second game of the series, winning 4-1.

The LA Dodgers will be in the Nationals Park in Washington DC on Friday for a three-game series with the Washington Nationals (3-3) who will start their homestand after six straight games on the road against the Chicago Cubs and the Philadelphia Phillies.

Emmet Sheehan will start for the series opener against Nationals’ starter Miles Mikolas.

The Dodgers went 41-40 on the road in the regular season last year and 93-69 overall.
