Lea Schüller of Bayern Munich returns to the international stage as one of the team’s forwards, this time aiming to push the team towards a huge goal: winning this year’s Euro Women’s Championship 2025.
But let’s take a brief look at Schüller’s profile outside her gleaming football career.
A protege from a young age
Schüller’s talent in football was seen at an early age, with her career taking off as one of the players of Hulsen SV where she molded her skills from the ground up.
She then became part of SGS Essen’s junior department in 2012, aged just 15.
Schüller marked a breakthrough in her career after her team defeated VfL Wolfsburg in 2013 just after joining the team.
Her football prowess was further highlighted after scoring two goals in 2014 that downed BV Cloppenburg.
Schüller then signed a three-year contract with Bayern Munich in 2020.

Making the country proud in Paris
Schüller was part of the German national women’s team at the Paris Olympics 2024, which clinched a bronze medal after defeating the Spanish team 1-0 in a nail-biting match.
Schüller and her team made Germany proud after downing the juggernaut Spanish team, which was a World Cup and UEFA Nations League champion at that time.
Outside her football career
Outside of football, Schüller is keen on other sports, even excelling in other disciplines such as volleyball and basketball.
According to the official website of Bayern Munich, the 27-year-old forward said she loves beach volleyball and indoor volleyball.
Moreover, the German football player said one thing she loves to devour is noodles.
“Noodles in all forms. I can eat them every day,” she admitted.
Schüller added that one of her many favourite places to visit is Fuerteventura, part of the Spanish Canary Islands, where she said she and her family usually go every autumn when she was young.
