Last week, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstar Ron “R-Truth” Killings shocked the world as he announced that the company had not renewed his contract.

Just six days later, after mass fan outcry, he returned to the company at Saturday’s “Money in the Bank,” helping Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso win against the villainous duo of John Cena and Logan Paul.

R-Truth, who was wearing a mask and a black hoodie, sneakily slid into the ring to attack Cena who was about to win the match after striking Rhodes with the Undisputed WWE Championship belt.

He then unmasked himself, as the crowd of over 17,000 went wild while Michael Cole on commentary echoed the sentiment of the people throughout the week: “We want Truth!”

Rhodes finished the match by pinning Cena at the centre of the ring after giving him a “Cross Rhodes.”

‘I am the truth’

On this week’s episode of “Monday Night Raw,” Killings addressed the crowd in an emotional promo, as he thanked fans for their support.

“R-Truth is back for all of you, every last one of you… Not only did y’all bring R-Truth back, you got me,” he said, still sporting the black hoodie.

“I feel different,” Killings then said.

“I feel alive, and for any of you that think I’m a lie, I’m a sideshow act. You think I’m a gimmick?”

The mood then changed as Killings chopped off his braids in front of the live audience.

“R-Truth, the truth has set me free.”

“I am Ron Killings, I am the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Now put some respect on my name,” Killings said, as he symbolically shed his comedic character.

Was it a ploy?

As fans went wild with the return of the 53-year-old veteran, people have been left speculating if he was truly released or if it was part of a storyline.

Former WWE superstar and current chief content officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque claimed that it was all a ploy.

“Whole part of the show, man,” Triple H claimed as he was addressing a press conference following “Money in the Bank”.

Levesque’s statement goes against Killings’ claim, who said that his quick departure was real.

“No work,” Killings claimed, who was responding to a fan.

“No cap #WeWantTruth was seen, heard, felt and understood… Believe me when I say this, I Love EVERYONE of y’all to death. We made history together,” Killings also said while responding to another fan.

Leveque’s comment drew criticism online, as fans on social media stated that he was merely trying to save face.
