Authorities are currently investigating the truth behind the death of a teenage girl whose body was discovered in a car registered to R&B artist d4vd with the cause of death still unreleased by the Los Angeles County medical examiner.
Identity confirmed, cause unknown
The remains, found on September 8 inside the front trunk of an impounded Tesla, were identified as Celeste Rivas Hernandez, a 15-year-old reported missing since 2024.
Her identity was confirmed by officials who explained that further analysis is needed for the cause and manner of death to be determined.
According to a report from PEOPLE, results on the ongoing forensic testing may take weeks to be released.
This delay has resulted in crucial questions remaining unresolved in a case that has already attracted national interest.
Although the Los Angeles Police Department is initially assessing the puzzling crime as a possible homicide, d4vd, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has not been publicly declared as a suspect, and no charges have been made.
He is said to be currently working with investigators.
