When Genshin Impact unveiled the Nod-Krai theme live with an orchestra, all eyes and ears were on Norwegian singer Aurora, whose ethereal voice transformed the debut into something more of a lore bomb than a simple game update.
On August 30, fans of both the singer and the game were mesmerised when Aurora delivered otherworldly vocals in a live performance with the London Symphony Orchestra, appearing every bit like a moon goddess on stage.
Aurora takes centre stage
The highlight of the Luna I update preview was undoubtedly the live performance of Nod-Krai’s main theme.
Produced by HoYo-MiX and performed by the London Symphony Orchestra alongside the London Voices choir, the concert reached new heights when Aurora stepped in with soaring Latin vocals.
Her presence marked the first time HoYoverse partnered with a global pop artist for a regional soundtrack.
It was a move that fans quickly praised as “haunting” and “otherworldly”, as reported by TechnoSports.
Aurora, of course, is no stranger to cinematic music.
Best known for her ethereal pop sound and for providing the mystical voice in Disney’s Frozen II, she brought the same atmospheric touch to Teyvat and pushed the soundtrack into territory that rivalled even epic film scores.

Five years of Genshin
The timing of Nod-Krai’s debut is no coincidence.
The upcoming Version 6.0, which is officially titled Luna I, also marks the fifth anniversary of Genshin Impact.
According to GosuGamers, the update is set to go live on September 10 and will kick off with the year-long ‘Song of the Welkin Moon’ storyline.
Players can expect not just a sprawling new map, but also new banner characters aligned with the new region, as well as fresh mechanics and a slate of anniversary rewards.

Exploring epic new frontiers
Nod-Krai itself promises to be as intriguing as its soundtrack.
Located at the southernmost edge of Snezhnaya, it is described as a bustling crossroads where people from across Teyvat converge, a place that feels equal parts dangerous and full of opportunity.
The Luna I update thus offers players a new cultural and geographical frontier to explore, designed to match the epic scale of Aurora’s vocal performance.

A journey from beyond
Since its release in 2020, Genshin Impact has followed the story of the Traveler, who is an otherworldly wanderer searching across the world of Teyvat for their lost twin.
Along the way, the Traveler becomes entangled with the seven nations, each tied to an elemental Archon who serves as god or ruler, along with various characters’ stories, while slowly uncovering the truths behind the gods and the hidden powers that shape the world.
Now, with Nod-Krai opening the gateway into the seventh nation, Snezhnaya, which is notably the homeland of the mysterious Fatui and the Cryo Archon, Tsaritsa, the saga is finally moving closer to its long-foreshadowed climax.
