NCT member Jaehyun has personally addressed widespread dating rumors surrounding his recent Instagram upload, confirming that the woman featured in one of his vacation photos and videos is his “cousin.”
The speculation began after Jaehyun shared a series of photos and videos from a seaside getaway, showing him surfing and enjoying time by the ocean following his return from mandatory military service.
Among the posts, one clip featuring the singer walking into the water alongside a woman prompted some fans and online users to speculate that he was subtly introducing a romantic relationship through social media.
As conversations gained momentum across online communities, a producer affiliated with SM Entertainment reportedly responded in the comments section, explaining that Jaehyun had simply shared memories from a meaningful trip with his cousin.
The producer also expressed disappointment that the artist’s innocent vacation post had been met with unfounded assumptions instead of support.

‘My dearest cousin’
Jaehyun later addressed the speculation himself by leaving a brief but direct comment that read, “My dearest cousin,” effectively confirming the woman’s identity and dismissing the romance allegations.
Despite his clarification, NCT fans, known collectively as NCTzens, defended him. They emphasized that celebrities should be able to share moments without being judged.
“But Jae, honestly, it’s normal when you really have a gf. We will still support you even while crying. But it’s okay I swear as long as you’re happy.” one fan commented on his Instagram post, with the comment receiving more than 1,000 likes.
“Yo Jae, feel free to post whatever you want without needing to explain yourself. It’s your life after all. As for the fans, leaving jealous comments, trust me they’re just teasing. It’s not serious. We love you,” another added.
No official girlfriend revealed
Jaehyun is a South Korean singer, songwriter, rapper, and actor under SM Entertainment. He debuted with NCT in 2016 and is a member of NCT 127, NCT U, and NCT DOJAEJUNG.
Regarding his dating history, Jaehyun has never confirmed being in a romantic relationship, and neither he nor SM Entertainment has announced an official girlfriend.
