In graduating from law school, reality star Kim Kardashian is following in the footsteps of her late father, Robert Kardashian, who famously worked on the OJ Simpson trial.
On Thursday, Kardashian shared a post of her private graduation ceremony with her Instagram followers, announcing the end of a six-year journey to becoming a lawyer.
She expressed gratitude to those who supported her and detailed the work she put in to accomplish the impressive feat.
Kardashian fulfils lawyer dream
“Six years ago, I embarked on an unconventional path to pursue my dream of becoming a lawyer,” the media personality wrote to her followers.
“It wasn’t easy, and it took longer than planned, but I never gave up. Each course brought moments of doubt, tears, and triumph – especially when I conquered subjects I initially feared.”
The 44-year-old’s graduation ceremony was attended by close family and friends, including Jessica Jackson, an attorney who worked with Kardashian on her studies.
“Six years ago, Kim Kardashian walked into this program with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice,” Jackson said.
“No law school lectures, no ivory tower shortcuts, just determination and a mountain of case log books to read.”

Reality star advocating for prison reform
Kardashian chose a rigorous programme registered with the California State Bar, building on 75 college credits to complete a four-year curriculum that eventually stretched to six.
In California, individuals can attain a law degree by completing a four-year Law Office Study Programme (LOSP) instead of attending law school, with passing the bar exam a requirement to practise law in the state.
“The journey was real, and so is the accomplishment,” Kardashian added.
Jackson also noted that, over the six years, the mother of four had dedicated “a total of 5,184 hours of legal study – that’s time she carved out while raising children, running businesses, filming television shows, and showing up in courtrooms to advocate for others”.
Kardashian has been involved in advocacy work in criminal justice throughout the course of her law school studies.
A notable case involved Alice Marie Johnson, a first-time non-violent drug offender, whose sentence Kardashian encouraged President Donald Trump to commute in 2018 after Johnson had served 21 years.
President Trump eventually pardoned Johnson in 2020.
She has since used her platform to advocate for other prisoners who are wrongfully imprisoned to get lesser sentences or be released through her ‘Prison-Reform Machine’ programme.
