Legendary American rock band, My Chemical Romance, has announced a huge show at Anfield stadium next summer as part of their Black Parade Tour.

The band, known for hits such as ‘Teenagers’ and ‘Welcome to the Black Parade’, will perform at the Reds iconic home on June 30 2026.

It will be their first show in Liverpool since 2006.

Fans had speculated about a potential Anfield show as advertising appeared to feature their logo on screens during the Merseyside Derby last weekend.

Summer of music

Known to millions as a football mecca, Anfield has also become a leading music destination over the last few years after hosting music royalty Taylor Swift, Elton John and The Rolling Stones.

In 2025, over 200,000 fans flocked to the stadium for spectacular performances by Bruce Springsteen, Dua Lipa and Lana Del Ray.

Huge economic boost

The concerts have become a huge additional revenue stream for the club as well as boosting the local economy.

A report released in 2024 stated that the concerts had boosted the Liverpool economy by over £31 million in 5 years.

The influx of fans from around the country and even the world means that businesses small and large all feel the benefit.

From local taxi drivers to the huge restaurant chains that can be found in the city centre, the financial benefits are a welcome summer boost.

Ben Latty, Liverpool’s chief commercial officer, said the club were “delighted to play our part in boosting the local economy and providing local jobs.”

Who else is performing at Anfield?

Piano Man Billy Joel will also be performing at Anfield in 2026 after postponing his 2025 show due to ill health.

No further acts have been announced as yet but many social media users have speculated over who they think could be announced next.

“What about Take That? They’ve announced stadiums around the UK but not Liverpool,” said one Facebook user.

“How about Lewis Capaldi?” commented another.
