Two cable car systems in Vietnam are among the most picturesque in Asia, according to a recent ranking by the American travel magazine Travel + Leisure.
The list features 11 cable car rides in Asia with the most breathtaking views in 2026.
The picks were made based on factors such as the distinctiveness of the surrounding natural landscapes, the engineering complexity, and the capacity to provide travelers expansive panoramic views, according to a report by Vietnam News.

The world’s longest sea-crossing cable car
The Hon Thom cable car on Phu Quoc Island is one of the highlighted systems.
Spanning almost eight kilometers, the cable line is the longest sea-crossing cable car in the world, according to Guinness World Records.
“The cable car ride, supported by a three-rope sea crossing system, boasts surreal views of local fishing villages and colorful boats, the An Thoi archipelago, and coral reefs, over a journey spanning 15-20 minutes,” Travel + Leisure said.
A journey through lush forests and misty clouds
Also included on the list is the Ba Na Hills cable car, which links the lowlands of Da Nang to the summit of Nui Chua at a height of almost 1,500 meters above sea level.
The cable line, which is over five kilometers long, provides expansive views of lush forests along mountain slopes.
The magazine described the route as a journey through “dense primary forests and rugged mountain peaks,” before reaching the cool climate on top of Mount Chua.

China’s Dagu Glacier Gondola
The other noteworthy cable car networks throughout Asia highlighted in the ranking include China’s Dagu Glacier Gondola, which was regarded as one of the highest in the world, bringing tourists to permanent snowfields at a height of 4,843 meters.
The Ngong Ping 360 in Hong Kong is well-known for its glass-bottom cabins with views of Lantau Island’s geological park.
Malaysia’s Langkawi SkyCab received recognition for navigating prehistoric rock formations that are thought to be over 550 million years old.
